There comes a time in every girls life where she needs to grow up and leave her parents to cleave to their husbands.

We were in a boat sailing through the water and then I seen a man. He was in a smaller boat, that was barely keeping itself afloat. He didn’t even seem to notice it, he seemed as happy as he ever could be, But he seemed to be missing something. I sat and watched as he directed his boat, going back and forth through the water, peering over the edge and into the water. By this time me and my parents were already to the shore and he was in the shallow water. I got in the water and swam to his boat.

“Can I help you sir?” I asked as he shifted to the other ledge peering down, searching. He paused and looked up, “why yes, you can.” He eventually gave up on the water and took us to the shore. This was a different island than where my parents were. We searched and searched, truly I don’t think he knew what he was searching for. Everything I picked up and showed him, he praised and put in a small sack he carried around his waist. Most of what I found was pieces of beautiful stained glass, and the only reason I picked them up is cause I thought they were pretty. None the less he thought they were treasure.

After hours of searching, it started to get dark. I wanted to continue helping, but I had to return to my parents. He understood and agreed to take me home. My parents felt sorry for him and gave their apologies for whatever he lost. He just shrugged it off and headed back to his island to continue searching.

The next morning I got up early and rushed to the other island. The man was still asleep, I guess he passed out in the middle of his wild search. I started to look where I last left off. After just a few moments I ran across a cave. The cave was lit with torches that led me to an altar, where several trinkets laid. By this time the man had awoken and found me in the cave. As he rubbed his sleepy eyes he walked up to where I stood. Then he paused in awe. This was all the things he was searching for, sitting on an altar in a cave. He became so overjoyed that he swooped me up into a big hug. We found it.

In this story they may have only found physical things, but they represent more. The trinkets they found, represent themselves. They found themselves together, though one may say the girl found it first. The argument is that she would of never knew that’s what he was searching for, until he confirmed it. She left her parents to help a man and in the end they found themselves, much like a bride would do with her husband.
